A son takes his aging father to a restaurant to enjoy a delicious evening meal. His father is old and therefore also a little weak. While he eats, more and more food falls onto his shirt and trousers. The other guests stare at the man with disgusted faces. The son remains calm and relaxed.

When they have both finished eating, the son, who is still not in the least bit embarrassed, takes his father leisurely to the toilet. There, he wipes the rest of the food from his father's wrinkled face, tries to wash the stains out of the clothes, lovingly combs his grey hair, and finally straightens his crooked glasses.

As they leave the bathroom, the restaurant is dead silent. No one can understand why one would so publicly disgrace themselves. The son pays the bill and goes to leave when an elderly man amongst the guests stands and asks him: "Are you sure you haven't forgotten something here?"

He answers: "No, I haven't." The stranger responds: "ahh, but you have! You've just given every son here a lesson and their fathers hope!" The restaurant is now so silent that you could hear a needle drop.

It is one of the greatest honors possible to one day be able to care for those who once cared for us. With all the time, effort, and money that our parents have sacrificed for us during their lives, they, and all older people, have earned our greatest respect.

If you agree, then share this story.
